Huge congratulations to Nula on achieving the NI and UK Active School Hero Awards

The UK Active Awards are sponsored by Nike and they shine a light on the amazing work of primary school staff, creating innovative and enjoyable learning environments for children to be active.

Nula picked up both the Regional Northern Ireland Active School Hero Award and the overall UK Active School Hero Award at a prestigious ceremony in Birmingham’s ICC in June. Nula's official role is the Building Supervisor, but as we all know, she does so much more above and beyond.

Her tremendous work ethic, her creativity, commitment and outstanding leadership skills, contribute so much to the children’s learning experience. The numerous whole school initiatives Nula has led over the years warrant this regional and national recognition.

Nula has been credited for her enthusiasm and her dedication to the school garden, the Eco-Schools projects and keeping children active. Her My Marathon initiative received a special mention for the impact it has on children, staff and governors alike. The role she plays supporting children with additional needs is much appreciated and life changing for those involved.
